If the alternator on your vehicle goes out, you wont be able to keep your battery charged for long. The Hyundai Sonata has fairly easy to access alternator, and changing it doesn’t take that long. The following tutorial is applicable to Hyundai Sonatas equipped with either the 2.4L four-cylinder engine or the 2.7L V-6 engine.
Tools Used: Tools, Gloves, Pliers, Socket wrench set, Breaker bar or extension (optional), Replacement alternator, Torque wrench
Change an Alternator
Remove the Old Alternator
Remove the battery access cover and unhook the negative battery cable. Keep the cable isolated to prevent it from touching the terminal.
