How to Change a Starter on a Suzuki Esteem

78

The starter on the Suzuki Esteem sits underneath the engine on the passenger side and is mounted to the front of the transmission bell housing. The gears of the transmission are lined up with the gears of the starter, so when the ignition switch is engaged, the starter turns the transmission. Replacing the starter is a job that can be completed in about two or three hours. You can save money by doing the work yourself.

Tools Used: Tools, Open-end wrench, Wood block, Floor jack, Jack stand, Nut driver, Socket wrench set
