A Polaris 90 Scrambler has an 89 cc four-stroke engine that uses 1 1/2 quarts of 5W40 ATV engine oil. This small ATV has no oil filter or transmission filter; for this reason, you are supposed to change the oil about every five times you take the vehicle out for a ride. Not changing the oil on a regular basis will eventually cause damage to the engine.
Tools Used: Tools, Oil, drain pan, Ratchet set, Funnel, Replacement oil
Change the Oil
Place the oil drain pan under the drain bolt, located on the bottom of the Scrambler’s engine. Remove the bolt using the ratchet set. Drain the oil into the oil drain pan and than replace the drain bolt onto the bottom of the Scrambler’s engine. Remove the oil cap from the top of the crankcase, on the left side of the engine. Insert the funnel into the hole covered by the oil cap. Pour the replacement oil into the engine, then remove the funnel. Replace the oil cap to the engine and tighten the cap.
