A radio in a 2000 Honda vehicle flashing “Code” on the display is locked out by an anti-theft security system. The radio is unusable in this state and must be reset in order for you to use it again. In order to reset the radio, you need to know the radio’s security code. Once you know this code, you can use the radio’s preset buttons to enter the code in and reset the radio.
Step 1 – Locate your radio’s security code. The security code is listed on the anti-theft ID card that came with the vehicle. If you lost this card, you must go to your automobile dealer and receive the code from them.
Step 2 – Turn on the radio and look for “CODE” to flash on the display. Use the radio’s preset buttons to enter in the security code. Turn the radio off, then turn it back on.
Tip – The anti-theft security system is activated when battery power to the radio is cut.
