Force produced outboard motors from the early 1980s until 1999. Although the motors aren’t produced any more, many people own Force outboards and replacement parts are still fairly easy to come by. The water pump in your Force outboard takes on a lot of wear and tear, and as such, requires regularly replacement. The water pump draws in water and circulates it through the engine to keep it cool.
Loosen the fasteners that hold the lower unit of your motor to the upper unit. Grab the lower unit and set it down where you will be working on it.
Remove the water pump’s four retaining bolts and slide the pump housing down and off the drive shaft.
