Audi TT PN 140465 Exhaust System Removal And Installation


Download Original Exhaust System Removal Note: With a used vehicle, we suggest a penetrating spray lubricant to be applied liberally to all exhaust fasteners and allowing a significant period of time for the chemical to lubricate the threads before attempting to disassemble. 1. Lubricate all the hangers and rubber isolators. 2. Remove (4) right-side diagonal brace bolts. Keep all hardware for rein-stallation later. (See Fig. 1) 3. Loosen 2– clamps nuts on factory clamp. (See Fig. 2) 4. Carefully remove muffler hangars from rubber isolators. (See Fig. 3) 5. Using a muffler stand or an additional person, remove the factory ex-haust system from the vehicle. (See Fig. 34 Warning: Use extreme caution during installation. Torque all fasteners according to manufacturer’s torque values and tightening sequence. DO NOT use air impact tools to tighten fasteners on Borla Performance Exhaust Systems. Use of such tools may result in bent flanges or gasket contact areas leading to exhaust leaks. Exhaust System Installation 1. Get familiar with parts and component layout referring to page 2. 2. Install factory clamp over factory front pipe. (See Fig.5) 3. Position Muffler Assembly into factory clamp carefully inserting hangars into factory rubber isolators. DO NOT TIGHTEN CLAMP. See Fig. 6) 4. Assemble R/H Tail Pipe and Y-Pipe Assembly using 2.00” provided clamp. DO NOT TIGHTEN CLAMP (See Fig. 7) 5. Place a factory 2.50” clamp over the expanded end pipe of the Y-Pipe Assem-bly and insert Y-Pipe Assembly into Muffler Assembly carefully installing the hangers into the rubber isolators.
