The fuel pump on a Volvo delivers the fuel from the gas tank and sends it to the engine. Should the fuel pump fail, then the engine won’t get the fuel it needs to run and the Volvo isn’t going to drive anywhere. To fix the problem, you have to replace the fuel pump so that the engine functions properly. This takes at least an hour to do, and it doesn’t require any specials tools.
