A Dodge truck uses a control arm on the bottom of the suspension. This arm supports the weight of the vehicle as well as the coil spring, and is a critical part of the suspension. The control arm uses a ball joint and rubber bushings to do its job, and if either of these components wears out, you’ll need to lower the control arm from the truck so that you can make the repair. Lowering the control arm takes about an hour to do.
