Several vehicles in Volkswagen’s 2002 lineup were powered by a normally-aspirated 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. This is not to be confused with the 1.8-liter or later 2.0-liter turbocharged engines used in some VWs, such as the GTI. The 2.0-liter is a basic, reliable powerplant designed with reliability and fuel economy in mind, rather than performance. The oil in the motor should be changed regularly to ensure that the vehicle runs reliably for years to come.
