Download 1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301). 2. Remove the generator drive belt, water pump and power steering pump drive belt, and the A/C compressor drive belt (if equipped). Refer to Section 03-05 for the removal procedure. 3. Remove the timing chain/belt (6268). Refer to the procedure in this section. 4. Raise and support the vehicle. 5. Place a suitable container underneath the oil pan drain plug (6730). Remove the oil pan drain plug and allow the engine oil to drain into the container. After the oil has drained out of the oil pan (6675) install the oil pan drain plug. Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 29-39 Nm (22-29 lb-ft). 6. Remove the generator regulator mounting bracket-to-oil pump bolt and position the generator regulator mounting bracket (10337) aside. 7. Remove the power steering pump bracket bolts and power steering pump bracket (3A732). Position the power steering pump (3A674) aside. 8. Remove the crankshaft pulley (6312). Refer to the procedure in this section. 9. Remove the outer timing chain/belt guide, the crankshaft sprocket (6306), and the inner timing chain/belt guide. 10. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector. 11. Remove the three oil filter adapter bolts and the oil filter adapter (6881). Discard the two oil filter adapter O-rings. 12. Remove the oil pan. Refer to the procedure in this section.
