Assembling the taillight on your 1993 Chevrolet Lumina is a very simple task that requires only the necessary taillight bulbs and a Phillips screwdriver. The taillight assembly on the 1993 Lumina includes three bulbs: the brake light bulb, the turn signal bulb and the backup lamp bulb. The first two require a 3057-type bulb; the backup lamp uses a 3156-type bulb. Be sure to use a clean cloth to install the bulbs.

Turn off the Lumina’s engine and open the trunk. Remove the safety net if your vehicle is equipped with one. Remove the carpet fasteners by twisting them with a Phillips screwdriver and pulling them away from the carpet. Pull the carpet away from the rear of the vehicle. Unscrew the three wing nuts and pull the taillight assembly out of the vehicle. Disconnect the assembly’s electrical connector by pulling it off of the rear of the assembly.
Remove the top socket and install a 3057-type bulb wrapped around a clean cloth. Place the bulb back into the assembly. Remove the middle socket and install a 3156-type bulb wrapped around a clean cloth. Place the bulb back into the assembly. Remove the bottom socket and install a 3057-type bulb wrapped around a clean cloth. Place the bulb back into the assembly. Place the assembly back into the vehicle.
Reconnect the assembly’s electrical connector. Reattach the three wing nuts. Place the carpet back into the vehicle and reinstall the carpet fasteners. Reattach the safety net if necessary and close the trunk.
