Download SERVICE INFORMATION If a 1999 Maxima will not start and the Security lamp is on solid with the ignition key turned to “ON”, use CONSULT or CONSULT-II with the NATS card to verify NATS DTC “ID DISCORD, IMM-ECM” is stored. If this DTC appears, use the Service Procedure in this bulletin to diagnose and repair the vehicle. For an introduction to and description of the Nissan Anti-Theft System (NATS), please refer to NTB99-063. SERVICE PROCEDURE NOTE: This procedure is described using CONSULT-II. CONSULT may also be used to perform the diagnostic procedures outlined below. However, the screens and steps will differ slightly from those shown here. 1. Install the NATS card (purple) into slot 1 of CONSULT-II (see Figure 1). Figure 2 3. Turn the ignition switch to “ON” (do not start the engine). CONSULT-II will then turn on automatically (see Figure 3). Now touch “START”. Figure 3 4. Select “NATS V2.0″ (see Figure 4).
