How to Replace Emergency Brakes on Toyota Corolla

Replace Emergency Brakes

Determine which type of emergency brakes your Toyota Corolla will need. Emergency brakes typically function by activating the regular braking system on the driving wheels. The emergency brakes for the latest Toyota Corolla uses the drum brakes on the rear wheels.

Raise the vehicle to remove the rear wheels and brake drum with a socket wrench. Remove the return spring, hold-down spring and its pin from the leading brake shoe.
