Hub studs on a Pontiac RE are made of a softer material than the lug nuts. Cross-threading or overtightening them will pull the threads enough to make them lock up and seize in the lug nut. The more frequently they are taken off and reinstalled, the more likely they will seize. The way to prevent this type of a problem is to apply some anti-seize compound onto the stud threads prior to installing the lug nuts and applying the proper torque.
Tools Used: Tools, Floor jack, Jack stands, Lug wrench, Hammer, New lug nut and stud, Spare lug nut, Washer to fit over stud, Anti-seize compound, Ratchet, Set of sockets
