Put on a pair of latex gloves to protect your hands. Unscrew the yellow colored oil dipstick and remove it. It’s located above the oil drain plug.
Use the 17-mm box-end wrench to turn the oil drain counterclockwise. Beware the plug has a small tension spring applied to it. This will make the oil plug jump off as soon as the last thread of the plug is unwound. The small mesh reusable filter is located inside the spring.
Allow the oil to drain thoroughly.
Remove the filter from the tension spring and clean it thoroughly with parts cleaner spray, on a shop rag. Replace the filter into the spring and then place the spring back into the oil drain plug.
