As of February 2011, the Sugar Sand boat company’s latest owners have suspended manufacturing jet boats, though its website notes a plan to begin production again. Featuring no-prop, no-transmission, full-throttle jet boats since 1993, Sugar Sand boats have inboard engines — with modifications, of course — that need regular maintenance like all the others. Changing the oil on your Sugar Sand’s inboard engine will take a small oil pump and a little more time than if you were changing the oil in your car.
