Remove the fuel intake tube from the pressure regulator to release built-up compression in the fuel line. Turn the car on and let it run until it stops. Don’t panic when the car shuts off on its own. That’s supposed to happen.
Disconnect the negative cable from the car’s battery.
Disconnect the fuel intake and fuel return lines from the fuel filter, located under the car near the gas tank.
Replace the fuel filter and attach the fuel intake and return to the new fuel filter. Do not mistakenly switch the lines as this will cause serious harm.
Replace the fuel intake tube on your pressure regulator and reconnect the negative battery cable.
