Download PARKING BRAKE SHOES (4-WHEEL DISC) Removal & Installation 1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheels. Remove caliper and hang aside using wire. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER & BRAKE PADS. Remove rotor. See REAR BRAKE ROTOR . 2. Remove clip and pin securing rear brake shoe to splash shield. Remove lower spring from rear shoe. Tilt rear shoe outward. Remove star adjuster wheel and return spring. Remove return spring from front shoe. Remove clip and pin securing front brake shoe. Remove front brake shoe. To install, reverse removal procedure. Adjust parking brake shoes. See REAR PARKING BRAKE SHOES (4-WHEEL DISC) under ADJUSTMENTS PARKING/EMERGENCY BRAKE 1. Adjust parking brake shoes. See PARKING BRAKE SHOES (4-WHEEL DISC) . 2. Check cable for binding, kinking or fraying. Replace cable if necessary. Raise and support rear of vehicle. Fully apply parking brake.
