The 2004 Saturn Ion is a compact car made by the Saturn Corporation. The car uses disc brakes on the front wheels to stop it during normal travel. When the brake pads are used, they press against a spinning rotor which causes friction and wears away at the brake pad material. Eventually the pad material wears out and the brake pads must be replaced with new brake pads. Installing the new brake pads is a task most do-it-yourself mechanics can complete in an afternoon.
