The 2003 Toyota Avalon is equipped with a cabin air filter that prevents dust and other allergens from entering the passenger compartment. The interval recommended by Toyota for replacing the cabin air filter is 10,000 miles or 12 months. Driving the Avalon on dusty roads or in conditions that encounter a large amount of airborne debris will cause the cabin air filter to get dirty more quickly, so you’ll want to change it out more frequently. A clean cabin air filter increases airflow in the ventilation system and keeps the air in the passenger compartment cleaner.
