Canon printers come with printer drivers and a software package that contains an ink-level monitor that lets you know when your cartridges are low. While this monitor is helpful, it’s sometimes better to turn it off, especially if you’re using refilled ink cartridges, which may set it off every time you use the printer.
1. Locate the low-ink message. It appears as a small window in the right-hand corner of your screen when your ink level appears low during printing.
2. Click the “OK” button located at the bottom of the message screen. Click “Yes” in the new window that appears asking if you would like to continue printing. Another window appears with a warning about using a refilled cartridge.
3. Click “Yes” to continue.
4. Press and hold down the “Resume” button on your printer for at least five seconds. Press and hold the “OK” or “Cancel” button if your Canon printer doesn’t have a “Resume” button.
5. Let go of the button until the light on your printer stops flashing and the ink level warning window on your computer vanishes.
