In the late 1980s, Hyundai Sonatas didn’t get much respect in the car industry because they were weakly built. But the new-century Sonata is designed to provide comfortable elegance for the whole family. Installing a fuel tank in a Hyundai has evolved, too. Once you know what you’re doing, installing a new fuel tank in your recent Hyundai model can be a snap.

Install a Fuel Tank
Take off the fuel tank filler cap and drain plug, then use a siphoning hose to empty the remaining fuel into a fuel container. Unplug all hoses and wires on or around the fuel tank. Use a torque wrench to loosen any bolts around the hoses. With a floor jack, lower the empty fuel tank out of the car.
