Jeep Cherokee Disconnect Transmission Cooler Lines A transmission cooler was an optional feature on the Jeep Cherokee. The transmission cooler consists of a small radiator bolted behind the engine’s radiator and two transmission cooler lines that extend from the second radiator to the transmission.

The lines are a sending and return line. The transmission cooler uses coolant from the engine radiator. If you plan to remove the transmission cooler lines, you will first need to drain the radiator.

Tools Used: Tools, Drain pan, Pliers, Open-ended wrench set

Disconnect Transmission Cooler Lines

Place a pan large enough to hold five gallons of coolant under the engine’s radiator.
