How to Check the Fuel Delivery on a Nissan Pathfinder

The Nissan Pathfinder debuted in 1986 as a subcompact sport utility vehicle and shifted classes to a mid-size SUV in 2005. Face lifts occurred in 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2008. The Pathfinder was known in markets outside the United States as the Terrano until 2005 when the Pathfinder name went international.

This process does not require tools.

Check the Fuel Delivery

Check the fuel delivery system of a Nissan Pathfinder if the engine won’t start, if it runs rough or stalls out in traffic.

Relieve the pressure in the fuel system. Disengage the fuel pump fuse. Start the engine and let it run until it stalls. Turn the ignition to the off position and disconnect the negative battery cable.
