How to Replace a Brake Line on your Oldsmobile Alero

With GM discontinuing the Oldsmobile line, it can be hard to perform personal service on your Alero. If the brake lines rupture and need replacing, make sure you get the correct replacement kit to do the repair. Replacement brake lines are stainless steel and usually perform better than the factory-installed ones.

Replace Brake Line

Add brake fluid and tightly replace the cap to help prevent excess fluid loss during the replacement. The Alero’s brake fluid reservoir is located behind the power steering fluid reservoir. Support the car on jack stands and remove the wheel. Locate the brake line and trace the section you’ll remove, starting from the brake hose.
