When you receive a message containing photo or video, saving that media to your phone ensures that you can access it at any time. Messages expire after a period of time, and may be deleted if your conversations go on for too long. Android has the built-in option to save media sent via text. You can also save photos from the browser. You won’t be able to download videos from a website in the Android button unless the website offers a “Download” option for the video.
Saving Media from Text Messages
- Open the Messaging app on your Android phone and select the text message containing the photo or video that you want to save.
- Press and hold down on the message containing the media you want to download. Do not hold your finger down on the thumbnail; this will open the image or video in your gallery.
