BlackBerry phones require a subscriber identity module card to work. Each SIM card has a different serial number and contains information about your mobile service account. Instances may occur you need to remove the SIM card from your BlackBerry, such as if you want to sell the phone or switch to a different phone. SIM cards can be removed without the need for special tools.
Push the battery cover release button on the back of the phone. Slide the cover off while the release button is still pushed in.
Remove the battery from the phone. The easiest way to do this is to put your finger in the small empty slot by the battery and then pry it out.
