The device lock on your BlackBerry phone prevents unwanted access to the phone’s memory. Your BlackBerry password should be something easy to remember, yet hard to guess by even your closest friends and family. Some users change their BlackBerry passwords frequently to make their BlackBerrys even more secure. To change the BlackBerry password, you must reset it from the device menu.

Press the red “End Call” button until your BlackBerry phone boots up. Press the Menu key to open the Applications page. Scroll to the Settings icon. Click it to open the BlackBerry settings menu.

Click “Options” from the settings menu. Click “Password.” Click “Reset Password.”
