Creating the physical connection between an input source, such as a laptop and a Sony Bravia HDTV is only half of the connection process: you still need to know which input you need to select on the TV. If you have one or more Sony Bravia HDTVs at your business that are often used for specific connections, such as laptops or projectors, labeling the inputs will make it easier for people who haven’t done it before. Labels can be created in the TV settings.
- Turn on the Sony Bravia HDTV and press the “Home” button on the remote control. Use the arrow buttons on the remote to scroll down to the “Settings” option and press the center button to select it.
- Open the Channels & Inputs menu and then open the “Channels, Inputs & Ginga” sub-category. Click the “Manage Inputs” option in the list and then click the first input you’d like to label.
- Click the “Always” option if you want the label to show up all the time, or click the “Auto” option if you only want it to appear when a device is connected. Press the right arrow button on your remote and choose the name from the list most similar to the device that will be connected, such as a laptop.
- Press the center button on the remote to confirm the selection. Click “Edit” if you want to customize the displayed label with your own text and then press the right arrow button again. Use the up and down arrow buttons to select an icon to be displayed next to the label and press the center button when done.
