How to Choose the Oil and Fluids on a Pontiac Bonneville

22

Choosing oil and fluids for a Pontiac Bonneville remains the same from model year 1992 to the Pontiac Bonneville’s demise in 2005. While most of the steps may apply to earlier models as well, owners of vintage or specialty vehicles may have unique maintenance needs.

Tools Used: Tools, Supercharger oil, Delco Supreme 11 DOT 3 brake fluid, GM power steering fluid, 10W30 engine oil, DEX-COOL silicate free antifreeze, DEXRON-III automatic transmission fluid

Choose the Oil and Fluids

Change your engine oil at specified intervals, using an API certified SAE 10W30 viscosity grade. The Pontiac Bonneville is unique among other passenger cars because 10W30 is the preferred, not alternate, engine oil viscosity. If temperatures are expected to fall below 60 degrees Fahrenheit before your next oil change, 5W30 is suitable, but don’t use other viscosities such as SAE 20W50.
