The anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning light in a Pontiac Vibe is controlled by a separate computer that is dedicated to the ABS system. When the ABS computer senses a problem with the ABS system, it stores a trouble code in its memory and illuminates the ABS warning light. In addition to illuminating the ABS warning light, the ABS computer also deactivates the ABS system to ensure the safety of the vehicle’s occupants. The ABS warning light must be turned off using an automotive scan tool.
