How to Replace the Brake Shoes on a Saturn Ion

69

To keep your Saturn Ion’s brakes working properly you will need to change to the brake pads every 10,000 miles or when you hear that squealing noise every time that you come to a stop while driving your Saturn. To get this job done you will need to raise the Saturn and remove the tire to access the brake calipers. The brake caliper is what the houses the brake pads. Any auto parts store will have the replacement pads that you will need.

Tools Used: Tools, Tire iron, Jack, Wrench, New brake pads

Replace Brake Shoes

Park your Saturn Ion on a flat, level surface. Remove the lug nuts with the tire iron on the tire that has the bad brakes. Use the jack to lift the the Saturn next to the tire with the bad brakes. Pull the tire off of the Saturn.
