Google Voice is a telecommunications service released by Google in 2009. Users of Google Voice are assigned a new phone number and access to a Web-based voicemail service, which is accessible via both smartphone app and Web browser. Google Voice gives users many options for managing their phones, but one of the most useful features is the ability to forward calls from their Voice number to their mobile phone, work phone and home phone all at the same time.
When you first register for Google Voice, you are given a variety of new phone numbers to choose from. The number that you choose becomes your primary phone number. Once you have your new number, you can then assign up to six forwarding numbers to your account.
