JavaScript compatibility is essential to viewing a magnitude of websites on the Internet. Android phones using version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich use Chrome as the default browser, whereas prior versions use the Web browser referred to as “Browser.”

How to Enable JavaScript on an Android Phone’s Browser

  • Go to the “Apps” listing menu and touch the “Browser” icon.
  • Touch the menu icon in the Browser window or tap the physical Menu button on the phone if applicable.
  • Select “Settings” from the menu. You may have to select “More” and then “Settings” on some devices.
  • Touch the “Advanced” option.
  • Tap the box next to “Enable JavaScript” and back out of the menu to enable JavaScript functionality.
