The HTC Touch runs the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional mobile operating system, so you need to use Windows Media Player to transfer music from your Windows computer to the phone. You can configure Windows Media Player to sync music to your device automatically or transfer the audio files manually. To sync the music automatically after you configure Windows Media Player, you just need to connect the HTC Touch to the PC while the software is running.
Launch Windows Media Player and connect the phone to the computer to display the Device Setup Wizard. Allow the wizard to search your computer for media files and then click “Finish.” Right-click the name of your device or “Storage Card” — if you have a storage card inserted into the phone — and choose “Set Up Sync” from the context menu. Select the “Sync this device automatically” option and then select the playlists you want to sync automatically.
Click “Finish” and the media files from the playlists are transferred to the phone automatically. The process may take a few minutes, depending on the number of files and their size.
Launch Windows Media Player, connect the phone and allow the software to search your computer for media files. Click “Finish” and then click the “Sync” tab. Select a playlist or library from the Playlists and Library list to display its contents in the Content list. Drag the audio files from the Content list onto the Sync list.
Click the “Start Sync” button to transfer the music to the HTC Touch. The process may take a few minutes. Do not disconnect the phone from the computer while the sync is in progress.
