The Motorola H500 is a Bluetooth headset released in 2006. The H500 allows for hands-free use of your mobile phone. Once connected to your phone, the H500 can control many of the phone’s functions with its “Call” button. Setup only takes a few minutes after which you can begin making and receiving calls with the H500.
The Motorola H500 should be fully charged prior to using the device. The headset comes with an charger that plugs into an electrical outlet. Once plugged into an outlet, connect the other end to the headset. A blue indicator light will come on while the headset is charging. The light turns off once the headset is fully charged. This usually takes about 2 hours. Unplug the headset once it is charged. The H500 is not operational when charging.
The H500 needs to be connected, or paired, to your phone before it is operational. The pairing function requires both the headset and the phone. To set the headset in pairing mode, press and hold the “Call” button until the blue indicator light comes on and stays steady. It may blink while you hold the button. Do not let go until it remains lit, which takes approximately 6 to 10 seconds.
Next, set your phone to search for local Bluetooth devices. You may need to refer to your cell phone’s instruction manual for information on how to do this. On most phones, locate the Bluetooth option and select “Search for Devices,” or other language similar to that command. A list of available Bluetooth devices will show up on the phone when the search is complete. Select “Motorola H500” to pair the phone to the headset. If prompted for a password, enter “0000.” Once the headset is paired to the phone, the blue indicator light will start blinking again.
Several functions available on the H500 for making and receiving phone calls, all are controlled by the “Call” button on the headset. To make a call using a voice command, press and release the “Call” button and say the name of the contact you wish to call. To redial the last number called on the cell phone, press and hold the “Call” button until you hear a beep.
If you have an incoming call, press and release the “Call” button to answer it. To reject the incoming call, press and hold the “Call” button until you hear a beep. There are several additional options for answering phone calls when you are already connected to another person. To answer a second call, press and hold the “Call” button to place the first call on hold. Switch between the two callers by pressing and holding the “Call” button.
