Motorola Droid phones use several methods for locking the phone. Two of these methods use the on-screen keyboard to input a passcode to unlock the device.
The first method uses a password that you set. The second method uses a Personal Identification Number (PIN). If a person attempts to unlock the phone without having the password or PIN, he is unable to access the phone. Press the Power button on the top of your Droid. Your Droid should display a lock icon with a slider on your screen. Slide the lock slider across your screen.
Type your Droid unlock password for a password-based lock, or your PIN number for a PIN-based lock. Once you enter the correct passcode, the Droid is unlocked. Attempt to enter your password or PIN five times. Tap “OK.” Tap “Forgot Passcode” if you do not remember your password or PIN. Log in with the Gmail account information associated with the phone to reset your passcode.
