Evo Gets Hot During Charging

An overheating phone can cause serious damage to the delicate interior hardware of the device. Certain models in HTC’s Evo line of smartphones, and particularly the Evo 3D, have been reported to get excessively hot when charging. Should you find your phone overheating, you can deactivate unneeded apps and processes to help alleviate the draw on the battery. You can also install a battery monitor to track what’s drawing on the battery. If these solutions don’t solve the problem, you may need to perform a factory reset on the device.

Excessive Power Draw

Reports from the Phandroid and Gotta Be Mobile websites indicate that the Evo 3D is known to sometimes draw too much power when charging. Both Sprint and HTC have acknowledged this issue. If you have an Evo 3D and are experiencing high temperatures when charging, consider returning the phone for a replacement.
