The front suspension on some 4X4 vehicles and older small trucks use a torsion bar instead of coil springs to determine the ride height of the vehicle. These torsion bars are adjustable so you can raise or lower the suspension a few inches. If you want to lower the torsion bars on your truck or SUV, you can do so in about 20 minutes with a few tools.
Things You’ll Need: Jack, Jack stands, 1/2-inch ratchet and socket set
Instructions
- Park the vehicle and engage the parking brake. Lift the front of the vehicle with a jack. Place jack stands under the frame then lower the vehicle onto them with the jack.
