Download CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result. 1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in Section 501-20B. 2. Lock the steering column. 3. Remove the front seats. For additional information, refer toSection 501-10. 4. Remove the screws and position the parking brake release handle aside. 5. Remove the RH and LH scuff plates. 1. Remove the eight screws. 2. Remove the RH and LH scuff plates. 6. NOTE: LH side shown. RH side similar. Remove the LH and RH cowl side trim panels. Remove the pin-type retainer. 7. Remove the screws and position the hood release handle aside. 8. Remove the instrument panel steering column cover. 1. Remove the screws. 2. Remove the steering column cover. 9. Remove the instrument panel steering column opening cover reinforcement. Remove the bolts and remove the reinforcement.
