Affected Vehicles ^ All 1997 and 1998 4 cylinder Camrys. Parts Information For models with ABS – (Approximately 90% of L4 Camry sales were equipped with ABS) Repair Procedures 1. Surface the disc rotors with the “On-Car Brake Lathe” to within serviceable limits. 2. If the rotors are unserviceable or below minimum thickness, replace the rotors. 3. Check any new disc rotors for runout. If the disc rotor runout is over 0.03 mm (0.0012 in), perform a phase matching procedure. 4. Install the correct Front Brake Kit listed in this bulletin, replacing the following parts; For models with ABS: Front Brake Pads, Shim Kit (if needed), and Rear Wheel Cylinders For models without ABS: Front Brake Pads, Shim Kit (if needed), Rear Wheel Cylinders and Proportioning Valve 5. Bleed the brake system. 6. Road test.
